The Nuclear Systems Engineer will support the overall architecture design, synthesis, analysis, and trades processes. He/She will provide specialty engineering domain  expertise in Survivability,  Electromagnetic  Environmental  Effects (E3)  and Natural,  Induced and Hostile  Environmental  Effects.  He/She  will also  develop system requirements and identify  element  allocations.  He/She will develop project schedules  for engineering product updates, and will approve of design and requirements  packages  through the establishedengineering review/approval process.

The candidate will monitor engineering tasks to remain on schedule and within scope; will coordinate trade studies and analyses; will coordinate the results with stakeholders; and will identify and track issues to resolution.


  • Degree in Electrical, Computer, Aerospace or other applicable engineering fields, from an accredited university.

  • Typically, 20+ years experience in a system engineering classification with  strong experience in  naturaland nuclear  environments.

  • A broad knowledge and understanding of naturaland nuclear environment impacts on systems, subsystems, and components.

  • A strong Systems Engineering background in natural and nuclear environments.

  • Experienced with MIL-STDs  461,  464,  810 and ITU-R  P.618, ITU-R  P.531 and MIL-HDBK-310.

  • Experienced system/specialty engineer on large-scale integration program.

  • Must have strong coordination, organization, teaming, and communication abilities.

  • Experience with developing solutions to a wide range of complex system-of-systems technical problems that require ingenuity,  innovation, and  collaboration with multiple stakeholders.

  • Ability to develop, document, and maintain processes, methods, and tools.

  • Ability to manage and understand multiple various tasks simultaneously.

  • Experience with BMDS, such as Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Theater High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD),  PATRIOT  PAC-3,   Aegis  BMD,   and X-Band radars.

  • Experience with sensor and radar programs.

  • Experience  with UFC 3-310-04.

  • Computer skills  to include Microsoft Office.

  • Experience with DOORS and System Architecture software.
