The candidate shall provide IT support for the Systems Integration Environment (SIE) workstations, servers, and network devices. The SIE consists of a mixture and variety of Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers and clients, Cisco network switches and devices, F5 network devices, Network Appliance (NETAPP) storage systems, and VMWare servers and clients. The contractor shall perform routine systems checks to confirm operational status and make appropriate adjustments as required. The contractor shall report anomalies to the SIE Manager within two hours. The contractor shall administer the Active Directory for the SIE domain and perform account management, group policy management, and overall domain management. The contractor shall configure, deploy, operate, maintain, and support various workstations and servers for the SIE architecture. The contractor shall perform installation of software and patches. The contractor shall resolve issues related to user trouble tickets, network issues, and server issues. The contractor shall perform maintenance of data files, observation of system performance, and system backup and recovery. The contractor shall maintain certification requirements for privileged users. The contractor shall coordinate with organization Information Assurance and System Security Managers to identify and apply the necessary Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA) and other cyber security requirements to SIE systems.
Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering or a Mathematics-intensive discipline.
Experience Requirements: Possess five years of intensive and progressive experience in the individual’s field of study and specialization.
A Secret Clearance is required. The candidate(s) must possess 8570 certification to include either LINUX and/or Windows Operating System Certification and have technical understanding of Naval Oceanography IT systems and architecture. Minimum of 5+ years experience in system administration with a detailed understanding of Navy IA policies (to the expert level); Minimum 3 years experience in Information Technology solutions development and cost estimation; Minimum 3 years experience in the implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guides; Optional: Experience using and/or supporting NAVY METOC applications and systems.
A Secret Clearance is required. Education as stated above and/or 2+ years of demonstrated experience.
