Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership of innovative, cutting-edge software projects 
  • Lead software design, engineering, and architecture efforts 
  • Partner with other technical leads and chief architects on architecting large-scale complicated solutions 
  • Oversee risk mitigation around performance, data integrity, and scalability 
  • Apply creative thinking/approach to determine technical solutions that further business goals, keeping in mind performance, reliability, scalability, usability, security, flexibility, and cost 
  • Inspire people through his/her technical know-how 
  • Skillfully identify problems and solve complex problems with simple solutions 
  • Provide technical leadership to project teams, including setting the architecture vision and roadmap, being the primary contact for technical communications
  • Provide technical leadership on business development activities which could include solutioning, customer meetings or proposal content

Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements (Level II)

  • Associate’s Degree of Higher and/or 5-15 years of experience

 

Experience with:

  • Java and PHP
  • Management of the technical team – helping them plan technical tasks and user stories for upcoming sprints and commit to realistic sprint goals

 

The Application Developer shall demonstrate:

  • Two (2) years of experience must have been gained on a project using Agile

methodologies.

  • Four (4) years experience and expertise in component re-use and maintainability,

setting up the application, conducting code reviews and quality assurance, and

software design.

 

The following experience is not required, but is highly desirable:

  • Five (5) years of experience as a systems development working with large Oracle

databases and in supporting web-based applications that support in excess of 10,000

users. As part of this experience, the architect shall have created and/or maintained the

application framework.

  • Experience in designing an external emulator that can be used to simulate the action

of interfaces, Oracle jobs, and adjudicative decisions to include:

o Oracle

o Monitoring and detecting software changes within an Oracle database

o JAVA and Enterprise JAVA

o FFTP MQ Server

o HTML API

o Creating 508 compliant systems

  • Two (2) years experience with MONGO Amazon or DynamoDB

Current DHS Public Trust
