  • Administration of Windows Server 2012 VMs and components
  • Performs Database product tuning and management.
  • Performs OS and Systems updates and migrations to new versions Responsible for system security and data integrity.
  • Manage IIS Web Servers for SSL, proxy and application hosting
  • Establishes procedures for maintaining user accounts, assigns file permissions and establishes password and account policies; installs, upgrades, configures, tests, maintains and supports operating system software in a production environment.
  • Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of VMs in a virtualized environment.
  • Creates batch, SQL and PowerShell utility scripts; performs configurations and adjustments to enhance database file capacity; performs automated and manual backup and restore processes. Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
  • Ensures that operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to DISA STIGs and Navy guidelines.
  • Recommends and directs software changes and updates to keep systems up-to-date. Monitors any software changes.
  • Performs and/or oversees daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Performs and/or oversees daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media.
  • Provision and configure new Windows Resources as needed by the team
  • Work as a high level independent contributor or team leader



  • Requires bachelor’s degree (in Engineering, Computer Science or related field) or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years’ relevant experience
  • Use of Windows and Microsoft products in a virtualized environment such as:
    • PowerShell, VBScript, batch or some other Windows-specific scripting experience
    • VMWare/Xen/OpenStack/Hyper-V/KVM
    • AWS/Azure/Rackspace/Other cloud or hosted providers
  • Administrator-level knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server to include:
    • User management and server settings
    • Backup and restore
    • Basic queries
    • Basic troubleshooting
  • Familiar with Active Directory to include:
    • Group Policy management, deployment, troubleshooting experience
    • Understanding of Active Directory Topology, Replication and Trusts
    • User and group management
    • AD-Integrated DNS management and troubleshooting
    • Understanding of Active Directory disaster recovery procedures
  • Administration of IIS
    • Deployment of software to IIS
    • Configuring IIS for SSL and PKI
    • Experience in basic administration of SharePoint
  • Highly Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with AWS
