    • Integrate production and manufacturing knowledge, information and requirements into the producibility review as the designated IPT interface.
    • Provide manufacturing input throughout all phases of structural hardware procurement. Lead/support the planning, development, modification and execution of program procurement plans, and schedules; coordinate with affected organizations regarding impacts to hardware procurement efforts.
    • Review, evaluate and provide comments to Engineering drawings and documentation required to successfully procure Space Launch System (SLS) Core Stage vehicle structural hardware components (Producibility).
    • Provide support on-site at Supplier locations during the manufacture of components as required.
    • Assist in the review of detailed Project schedules of Supplier processes as they relate to the manufacture of component hardware.
    • Primary manufacturing focal throughout the acquisition, definition, production and support phases of structural hardware procurement.
    • In depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.



    • Knowledge of precision measurement tools and techniques for the inspection and validation of mechanical test and flight hardware components and assemblies (e.g. conventional gages and measurement tools, CMM, laser tracker, theodolites). Familiarity with associated validation software for comparative analysis. Ability to document and report on results, and address discrepancies.
    • Expert level experience with the application of geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
    • Must be able capable of scripting laser inspection sequences within the Spatial Analyzer software including the import of CAD models & definition of the appropriate axis system per GD&T requirements. Knowledge of measurement systems (e.g., photogrammetry, coordinate measuring machines, laser tracker, laser radar, laser alignment, portable measurement tools). Capable of designing measurement systems and tools.
    • Position requires experience with software applications including: Spatial Analyzer, PRO-E, Catia, Word, Excel, Project, Access, Visio and knowledge in DELMIA software.


    Boeing estimates that the minimum technical skills required to satisfactorily perform the above tasking would require:

    • 5-10 years.
    • Degree preferred but not required.
    • Past experience on SLS, External Tank, Delta, Atlas, etc. desired.


    Estimated support level :

    • Baseline NTE Support is expected for 40 hours per week per EP.
    • Occasional overtime may be required.
    • Overtime is defined as work hours in excess of 40 hours in one week.
    • Any authorized overtime shall be charged at straight time.
    • If OT is required, it must be approved in advance by Boeing IPT Leadership and authorized by Supplier Management.



    Travel is not authorized at this time, but may be required at a later date; should it become necessary it will be charged to a separate line item.



    • Must have the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility - U.S. Citizenship Required.
    • This is a sensitive/safety-sensitive position and is subject to NASA (DOT) random drug and alcohol testing.
