    Responsibilities

    Position will be required to update and sustain development and production Windows servers supporting the naval operational system located at the Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVO) at Stennis Space Center. The system is comprised of Microsoft Windows Server 2012, Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Edition, and Internet Information Services (IIS) 7 running a customized web and database application built in SQL, ASP.NET, and C#.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Perform routine systems checks, confirm operational status, make appropriate adjustments, and report anomalies.
    • Configure, deploy, operate, maintain, and support the servers and applications comprising the system architecture.
    • Perform installation of software and patches.
    • Resolve issues related to user trouble tickets, network issues, and server issues.
    • Perform maintenance of data files, observation of system performance, and system backup and recovery.
    • Maintain certification requirements for privileged users.
    • Coordinate with organization Information Assurance and System Security Managers to identify and apply the necessary Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA) and other cyber security requirements to FWB systems.

    Qualifications

     Basic Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of experience in Windows system administration with a detailed understanding of Navy IA policies
    • 3+ years of experience in Information Technology solutions development and cost estimation
    • 3+ years of experience in the implementation of DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
    • Secret clearance required
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering or a Mathematics-intensive discipline, or a 6 year experience equivalency
    • 8570 Certification to include Windows Operating System Certification

    Additional Qualifications:

    • Security+ Certification
    • Certification or Expert in MS Windows Server 2008/2012
    • Certification of Expert in VM Ware/virtualization
    • Technical understanding of Naval Oceanographic IT systems and architecture

     

    Must have or be able to obtain security clearance.
