    What's exciting about this role:

     

    The selected Developer will have the opportunity to support the Nuclear Thermal Propulsion development effort and Additive Manufacturing Research Division of NASA.  The Nuclear Thermal Propulsion program propels human exploration missions to Mars and other deep space destinations.  The Additive Manufacturing Facility (AMF) is a permanent 3D printing manufacturing facility on the International Space Station (ISS), providing hardware manufacturing services, and is twice the size of it’s predecessor 3D printer. The ability to manufacture on the ISS enables on-demand repair and production capability, as well as essential research for manufacturing on long-term missions.

    Responsibilities

    • In a teaming environment, write, test, debug, and maintain computer programs, conceive, design, and test logical structures for solving problems through computer programs, utilize programming languages and tools to code, debug, compile, test, and deploy computer programs.

    • Develop and adapt scientific algorithmic models for encapsulation into Docker containers.

    • Develop server-size data processing and management utilities to enable data accessibility.
    • Develop user-facing web application capabilities to define data processing workflow and visualize generated data products.
    • Responsible for working with customer to determine automated process and workflow requirements.
    • Utilize code repositories and configuration management tools to successfully manage computer programming projects.

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years’ experience developing applications with Python language
    • 1+ years’ experience developing Web Applications with AngularJS Framework
    • Experience with Docker including creating and deploying containers
    • Experience in system integration and configuration of Open Source Software preferred
    • Knowledge of Matlab a plus
    • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree
