    We are looking for an experienced Solid Edge/AutoCad Designer to join our team!  

    Responsibilities

     

    Performs product development tasks such as 3D modeling and detailed 2D drawings for new components and Installation Design Packages (IDPs) using Solid Edge/AutoCad or other design management tools. Supports the product development process with initial concept drawings for quoting and exploded drawings to be used for manufacturing or installation. Maintains and modify basic component designs to provide product definition to engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.

     

    Work with Project Lead and installation team members to collaborate on product designs from concept through production for access control system extensions, upgrades, and enhancements. Responsible for reviewing engineering drawings and supporting documentation for adherence to drafting standards, and for compliance with the Shore Installation Process Handbook (SIPH) for 30%, 60%, 90%, and 100% As-built drawings. Work with design engineers to document needed changes on existing products and document engineering and print revisions. Create and maintain detail electrical and floorplan drawings and maintain assembly drawings. Calculate dimensions, allowances and technical specifications involved in accordance with established practices. May provide assistance in the development of engineering specifications documents and bills of materials. Evaluate tolerance stack-up issues as needed.

    Qualifications

     

     

    Education and/or Experience:

    •  Associate degree in Mechanical Design/Drafting or equivalent along with training in SolidEdge, AutoCad, or equivalent CAD software.
    • 3 year product design experience required.
    • Understanding of Naval Facility Access Control (AC) Systems.

     

     

     

    Other Skills and Abilities:

    • Fluent in Solid Edge, AutoCad, or equivalent 3D CAD software (i.e., Unigraphics, Creo, Solid Works, etc.) 
    • Competent with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and with others across various disciplines
    • Communicates well verbally, diagrammatically, and in writing
    • Creativity, innovation, and attention to detail
    • Ability to work in environments experiencing routine and rapid change
    • Knowledgeable of Shore Installation Process Handbook (SIPH) a plus
    • Desired experience with design file management

     

     

    Driving during company time for company purposes will be required for this position. Candidate must be eligible for coverage under the company’s insurance policies.  

    Active Secret Clearance Required
