    The Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program is the Minuteman III replacement system led by the United States Air Force. Our team is supporting the USAF’s nuclear deterrence mission to replace the entire weapon system and refurbish the existing ground systems infrastructure.

    Responsibilities

    We are searching for highly qualified candidates to support of launch vehicle guidance. Working independently and in integrated, collaborative teams, your responsibilities would include:

    • Develop and validate guidance and flight control algorithms.
    • Develop, implement, and test GN&C flight software and mission support software.
    • Analyze trajectories and conduct performance analyses and trade studies in support of launch vehicle and spacecraft design.
    • Develop equations, algorithms, and software tools suitable for GN&C system analysis and design.

    Qualifications

    A degree in Aerospace, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited institution is required. Typically, educational requirements are the equivalent of a Ph.D. with a minimum of 4 years of experience, a Masters with at least 6 years of experience, or a BS with at least 10 years of experience.  

     

    Skills and experience should demonstrate:

    • Experience designing and implementing vehicle guidance and flight control systems.  Experience with optimal guidance and control highly desired.
    • Detailed knowledge of orbital mechanics and flight mechanics.
    • Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, C and C++.
    • Experience developing flight-critical software using formal processes and coding standards
    • Familiarity with 6-DOF simulation, navigation, and control functions for aerospace vehicles.
    • Ability to work with multi-discipline groups to develop solutions to complex integration problems.

    The ability to apply knowledge and experience to timely completion of excellent products and services is required.  Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and independent problem solving are required.

      

     

    Must have or be able to obtain security clearance.
