    What's exciting about this role:

     

    This position will be supporting the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the Department of Defense Supercomputing Resource Center (DSRC).  The DSRC’s computing resources include 1.8 peak PFLOPS of computing capability, ensuring that scientists and engineers across the nation have access to the best HPC hardware the industry has to offer.

     

    The selected Engineer will participate in designing and building systems for High Performance Computers as well as developing/integrating software to help facilitate different research groups within the HPC environment. The initial project is hydrology related, but ultimately, we are building systems to run in the DSRC for all types of research.

    Location:  Our top preference is to have this Developer in the Jackson/Vicksburg, MS area, however, this role can be located in Huntsville AL, Stennis Space Center MS, Baton Rouge LA, or New Orleans LA.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Work directly with customers to determine requirements based on user needs.
    • Perform analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, and maintenance of software solutions.
    • Design, develop, and maintain ESRI ArcGIS Feature Services
    • Integrate ArcGIS JavaScript API into C# .NET MVC web applications
    • Provide consultation and support services for the full life cycle of software product development. These activities will include communication with the user community during requirements analysis, prototyping, system analysis, development, fielding, and maintenance of systems.
    • Evaluate new software products and technologies, and provide recommendations to enhance existing systems or build new ones.
    • Provide software development support for the prototyping of analytical tools, data management and user interfaces to databases, and computational utilities.
    • Conduct software testing to ensure satisfaction of application development requirements.
    • Document software procedures and develop software reports, plans, and products, such as software development plans, software requirements specifications, software design documents, software development files, source code, version description documents, and test plans.

    Qualifications

    Mandatory:

    •  Due to this government contract, all candidates must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain a DoD clearance.

    Qualifications:

    • 5+ years software development experience
    • Proficient in C# .NET MVC applications
    • Proficient in ArcGIS Feature services and the ArcGIS JavaScript API
    • Experience working within a Continuous Integration environment
    • Preferred experience with Jira or a similar scrum management tool
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills
    • BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area
