    The ideal candidate will have skills, experience, and knowledge of Business Development, Capture Management, and Proposal Development support processes and techniques. This detail-oriented individual will report to principals in the Business Development, Business Development Operations, and Proposal Management organizations.


    • Support to senior Business Development and Capture personnel in new business opportunity identification and qualification.
    • Support and facilitate Business Development operations for new business opportunity maturation from opportunity identification, through assessment/pursuit, capture, proposal development, proposal submission, and lessons-learned, including proposal site establishment, Gate Reviews facilitation, and proposal team coordination.
    • Conduct targeted research to identify clients, opportunities, and competition in support of business development.
    • Support key account management and opportunity-specific meetings, activities, and documentation.
    • Support strategic partner interfaces and activities.
    • Support the improvement of processes for opportunity identification, qualification, capture, and win rates.
    • Interface and coordinate with corporate service centers and shared services organizations to facilitate business development and capture management activities.
    • Support development and maintenance of capability briefings and marketing materials.
    • Support Past Performance research, including development, storage/access, and update activities.
    • Support new business opportunity pipeline research, development, and analysis.
    • Support collection, analysis, and reporting of business development, capture, proposal development, and marketing metrics.
    • Support information gathering and analysis of the competitive environment for key accounts and specific opportunity pursuits.
    • Support capture and intelligence data collection and publication through opportunity-specific Capture Plans.
    • Work collaboratively with Operations leads, Technical leads, and Proposal Managers through the completion of all proposal activities.

    • Perform copy editing of proposals, technical documentation and marketing materials.

    • Maintain currency in knowledge of specified customer domains and technology focus areas through self-education, professional development, and customer/community involvement.

    • Active participation in proposal-related Pricing and Color Team reviews to ensure appropriate customer voice, proposal compliance, and competitive pricing.
    • Support, attendance, and participation at customer industry days, customer/contractor/industry events, and community engagements where there is increased exposure and customer access as a result of Geocent participation.
    • Support coordination of events for the team as needed, including meetings, speaking engagements, seminars, trade shows, and exhibits.


    • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited educational institution. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
    • 3-5 years of proven business development and proposal support experience.
    • Ability to coordinate work across multi-disciplinary teams.
    • Experience reporting opportunity pursuit status and plans to executive management.
    • Ability to support and document customer and partner meetings.
    • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, SharePoint collaboration tools, and familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) applications.
    • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
    • Ability to support proposal-like responses and activities with copy/edit, technical writing/review, and graphical support.

    • Ability to develop/write (using rough outlines or direction from SME's) content, revise and copy edit of proposals, technical documention and marketing materials.
    • Ability to research and understand technical concepts and solutions.
    • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and a team player.
    • Must be available to travel as required.
    • Knowledgeable and experienced with industry standard business development tools and applications such as Deltek/GovWin-IQ, FBO, CRM, Market Analysis, Price-to-Win Assessments, etc.
    • US Citizenship is required.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Applicants selected will be subject to a Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain and retain a Government/DoD security clearance at a minimum level of SECRET; active SECRET clearance preferred.
    • Familiarity with the Shipley methodology for business development, capture management, and proposal development processes.
    • Familiarity and relationships with organizations such as the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC), Army Material Command (AMC), PEO-Aviation, PEO-Missiles-and-Space, US Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM), AMRDEC, Redstone Test Center (RTC), Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC), Missile Defense Agency (MDA), US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), other Redstone Arsenal customer tenants, and participation in the Huntsville business community and organizations.
