    Responsibilities

    The tasks may include, but are not limited to:

    • Assist and guide Manufacturing Egineering team members on the implementation and use of Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT), Final Integration and Functional systems;
    • Apply extensive job practices, techniques, standards and principles to influence hardware design and manufacturing processes, with a goal to implement Design for Manufacturing and Assembly methods (DFMA);
    • Represent the Production Engineering organization as the prime Producibility technical contact to tiered suppliers of large machined parts, systems components or Avionics and electrical;
    • Assist and guide Manufacturing Engineering team members on processes related to (DFMA) and AS6500 Government standards;
    • Author and develop (AIT, Final Integration and Functional systems) sections of the Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration and Test plan to satisfy Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR) contractual deliverables;
    • Develop and present highly technical material during Technical Interchange Meetings (TIM’s) with (NASA) customer and other suppliers associated with Boeing and (NASA);
    • Perform project management activitities, working across multiple functions, and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) both within NASA and Boeing;
    • Provide support as part of (IPT) on Change Control Boards (CCB), supplying manufacturing cost, and schedule impacts to program management on design changes from the baseline plan;
    • Innteract with other senior personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination, planning and execution between organizations and multiple stakeholders;
    • Refine, validate, coordinate, and implement conceptual designs and manages the program architecture for build;
    • Develop manufacturing plans and oversee plan optimization;
    • Conduct complex producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements;
    • Resolve complex technical problems;
    • Serve as a project manager to ensure that contract requirements, specifications, design criteria and schedule performance are integrated and maintained;
    • Assist with advanced design solutions and supports research of new product or business opportunities;
    • Document and communicate producibility best practices;
    • Deliver high quality plans, records, and reports in support of Mfg Eng for the Development, Planning, Fabrication , Assembly, and Integration production effort(s);
    • May perform tasks in Foreign Object Debris (FOD) controlled environments.
