    The duties of an Application Administrator include, but are not limited to:

    • Oversee the installation, administration, configuration and support of applications (e.g. SharePoint, NetScaler (Application Delivery Controller), Zoom)
    • Coordinate enhancement, modifications or upgrades with users, developers, business analysts, infrastructure teams, governance groups, and change management teams with a goal of aligning testing processes;
    • Produce documentation related to the provisioning, maintenance and support of the system; monitor software applications, document and analyze issues
    • Produce roll-back procedures and information related to validation and components;
    • Provide training to new users and take the lead when troubleshooting system problems;
    • Ensure process control activities are aligned with system performance.


    The Application Administrator should provide programming/analyst personnel with a wide range of knowledge and experience in, but not limited to, the following:

    • Perform services to ensure that IT system modifications capitalize on agency architectures and State IT standards;
    • Provide system modifications that are interoperable and interface with other systems and networks;
    • Provide system modifications that are reliable and easily maintainable;
    • Provide support for web-enabled applications that includes, but is not limited to:
      • Zoom, SharePoint, Skype, and NetScaler (Application Delivery Controller)
    • Provide support of mobile applications for iOS
    • Participate in a conversion from one software application to a new software application;
    • Participate in a conversion of data from one database to another database;
    • Provide ongoing application, infrastructure and technical support to ensure business continuity.
    • Plan system upgrades and patches, establishes fail-over plans, and oversee testing environments.


    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information System, Computer Science or related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience
    • Certification in Operating Systems (e.g. MCSA, LPIC-1, RHCSA, SCA)
    • Familiar with all phases of software development life cycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering, analysis and design, development, testing, implementation, and production support
    • Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service
    • Ability to work with a diverse team including IT and stakeholders
    • Problem solving/analytical skills and knowledge of analytical tools
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Selfmotivated, able to work independently, and takes initiative
    • Ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment
    • Attention to detail with time and project management skills
    • Ability to learn new technologies and master new skills quickly
    • Professional attitude and work habits

     Preferred Qualifications:

    • Certification in Operating Systems (e.g. MCSE, LPIC-2, RHCE, SCE)
    • Subject matter expert in supporting, maintaining, and administering complex applications.
    • Excellent problem solving/analytical skills, knowledge of analytical tools, and complex troubleshooting methods.
    • Handson experience in process automation, best practice approach, technology efficiency, and effectiveness
    • Outstanding attention to detail with superior time and project management skills
    • Networking experience including
      • Implementing security protocols
      • IP Addressing and Subnetting
      • Knowledge of network protocols and services such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP
      • LAN and WAN experience
      • Experience configuring and troubleshooting Network Infrastructure and Network Hardware
