    Responsibilities

    Configuration Management encompasses the administrative activities concerned with the creation, maintenance, controlled change and quality control of the scope of work. It is a system engineering process for establishing and maintaining consistency of a product's performance, functional, and physical attributes with its requirements, design, and operational information throughout its life.

     

    The Cloud Transition and Modernization Technology (CTMT) project has a need of a Configuration Manager who publicizes and oversees implementation of an updated Configuration Management System (CMS).

    • Act as focal point for process, communicate with clients, service providers, and management ensuring the standards and procedures are being followed.
    • Assists auditing of the process for compliance with documented procedures; coordinates day-to-day execution of the process.
    • Ensure completeness and integrity of information collected to conduct daily operations; identifying exceptions and deviations, as well as management of these situations.
    • Following defined escalation path when needed
    • Ensures that configuration changes are uniquely identified with naming conventions.
    • Ensures that staff comply with processes, documentation, versions, formats, baselines, releases and templates.
    • Communicating new and changed policies.
    • Creating, analyzing and distributing process reports as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Requires that candidate has or can obtain an active DoD Secret security clearance.
    • Requires a bachelor's degree (in related field) or equivalent experience, and 7-9 years of related business systems analysis experience. This experience must include:  
      • An understanding of and experience working in Agile Software Development Life-cycles (SCRUM), and/or iterative-development environments.
      • Experience with using management configuration programs to ensure all proposed and actual changes to program technology and documentation are properly staffed, approved, and tracked.
      • Experience with facilitating the change notification process used for updating products.
      • Ability to ensure notification of performing organizations or project teams of change activity.
      • Possess analytical skills to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and decompose high-level information into details.
      • Candidate must be proficient with MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint, SharePoint, and have experience working as part of multi-vendor teams.
      • Observational skills to validate data obtained via other techniques and expose new areas for elicitation.
      • Writing skills to communicate information effectively to customers, managers, and technical staff.
      • Organizational skills to work with the vast array of information gathered during elicitation and analysis and to cope with rapidly changing information.
